Its key responsibilities include:

• the implementation of Óbuda University's strategic goals, with special regard to the university's appearance in national and international rankings,
• the management of scientific activity of the university,
• improving the research activities of the University and its (internal and) external representation;
• calling for and reviewing  scientific-research scholarship applications  of the university

The Scientific Council is composed of delegated voting members of the departments, bodies, and advocacy organizations as follows, confirmed by the Senate:

• the Vice-Rector for Research,
• the Vice Deans for research of the Faculties,
• the director of the University Research and Innovation Center (EKIK),
• a doctoral student and a student with active student status, delegated by the Doctoral Student Council in accordance with the Council’s statutes

The chairman of the Scientific Council is the Vice-Rector for Research, and the secretary is appointed by the chairman.

The Head of Tender Management and Knowledge Transfer Office participates in the work of the Scientific Council with consulting rights.

Its key responsibilities include:

• assisting in the development of strategic goals and scientific strategy,
• assisting in the development of principles regarding the planning and use of the Strategic Fund,
• assessment of the scientific activity of the university and its appearance at both national and international levels,
• giving a preliminary opinion on the Rector’s call for tenders , high level management  positions, university professor and research professor appointments, as well as the evaluation of the received applications,
• calling for the  "Researcher of the Year"; "Most Cited Researcher of the Year" and "Young Researcher of the Year" awards and prior appraisal  on the applications,
• reviewing  the nominations for the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa"
• reviewing the establishment of new Doctoral Schools. 

Members of the Council of Professors with the right to vote, confirmed by the Senate:

• the Vice-Rector for Research,
• Chairman of the University Doctoral and Habilitation Council,
• one professor, and one professor emeritus representing each of the seven faculties and the University Research and Innovation Center (EKIK) by the request of the Rector.

The Chairman of the Professors’ Board is the Vice-Rector for Research. The Secretary of the Professors’ Board is appointed by the Chairman.

Az Esélyegyenlőségi Bizottság a (Kari Tanulmányi Osztályra, a regisztrációs héten) leadott kérelmeket az első oktatási héten bírálja el, és szükség esetén Az Óbudai Egyetem fogyatékossággal élő hallgatói tanulmányainak folytatásához szükséges esélyegyenlőséget biztosító feltételekről szóló szabályzatában foglaltak alapján a hallgató részére kedvezményt biztosít.

Azok a hallgatók, akik valamilyen fogyatékossággal élnek kérdéseikkel a kari koordinátorukat kereshetik meg telefonon vagy e-mailben.

A szervezet munkatársai

• A K-MOOC magyar nyelvű online kurzusok indítását, elterjesztését tűzte célul elsődlegesen a Kárpát-medencei magyarság, de szerte a világon minden magyar anyanyelvű számára.
• A K-MOOC egyrészt kredittel vagy oklevéllel elismert online oktatási formát biztosít a Kárpát-medencei, részben vagy egészben magyar tannyelvű képzést folytató felsőoktatási intézmények, karok, tanszékek hallgatói számára, másrészt egy újabb oktatási formát kínál az élethosszig tartó tanulás megvalósításában.
• Résztvevői a K-MOOC Hálózatához csatlakozó magyarországi és határon túli magyar tannyelvű egyetemek, főiskolák.
• A Hálózathoz csatlakozó egyenrangú intézmények minden tudományterületen maguk is készítenek és meghirdetnek a K-MOOC keretében mindenki számára ingyenesen elérhető, online, kredites magyar nyelvű kurzusokat, diákjaik pedig felvehetnek kurzusokat a Hálózat bármely intézménye által meghirdetettekből.
• A rendszer nyelve magyar.
• Működtetője az Óbudai Egyetem

A Rektori Tanács ülésére az esetenkénti meghívottak személyéről a rektor dönt.

The content of library documents depends on the programs and courses taught in the university. The stock consists of technical texts in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry related to the basic disciplines, textbooks on Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Information Technology, Light Industry, Pedagogy, Economics and Management, as well as lecture notes and language books.

The library network operates a common reference library system and effectively assists the teaching and research activities at Óbuda University. The libraries at sites collect, explore and make the documents of domestic and international technical texts available, and are issued in traditional and electronic formats.

The management of the dormitories are based on self-government; it provides the students with necessary problem- and conflict solving skills, prepares them for the roles in public life.

At this time we can accommodate more than 1500 students. We meet  most of the demand: in the autumn semster 75% of the applicants can be accomodated, while in spring semester it is 90%.

As of February 2007 the student hostel operating next to the Józsefváros Campus provides high level accommodation for its residents.

A Testület tagjai: a rektor, a rektorhelyettesek, a dékánok, az EKIK főigazgatója, Üzemi Tanács elnöke, a Szakszervezet elnöke, az Egyetemi Hallgatói Önkormányzat elnöke.
